Chakloon Console Terms

The terms on which site owners use Chakloon Console to prove their domain, ask for indexing in Chakloon Net and subscribe to the paid plan.

Scope

Chakloon Console, at chakloon.net/console and console.chakloon.net, is the cabinet for owners of websites in Chakloon Net, the search service of the Chakloon package. It is operated by Haydamax OÜ, registry code 17351554, Narva mnt 5, 10117 Tallinn, Estonia.

These terms supplement the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy, which apply in full. Payments are governed by Payments, refunds and withdrawal. Where a site owner uses Chakloon Net for a business, these terms also give the information required by Regulation (EU) 2019/1150 on fairness and transparency for business users.

Adding a site and proving the domain

To manage a site in Chakloon Console you add it and prove that you control its domain. You can use any of these methods:

  • a meta tag named chakloon-net-verification on the home page of the site;
  • a file /chakloon-net-.txt at the root of the site, with the token shown in the cabinet;
  • a DNS TXT record for the domain;
  • an e-mail to a service mailbox of the domain: info@, hello@, contact@, support@, office@, admin@, administrator@, webmaster@, hostmaster@ or postmaster@.

When you click the check button, the meta tag, the file and the DNS record are checked at once. For proof by e-mail, a button asks the mail server of the domain which of these mailboxes exist, and you choose one of them. We send an e-mail from no-reply@chakloon.com with a link valid for 24 hours. The domain is proved only when you open the link and press the button on the page; opening the link alone does nothing. We send at most one such e-mail every 10 minutes and at most 4 for one request. Proof by e-mail is valid for 365 days.

You may add only domains that you own or are authorised to manage. Proving a domain does not transfer any right in it and is not a confirmation by us of who owns it. Sites with pornography, gambling or pirated content are not accepted into the Console.

Keeping the proof

Keep the proof in place. If you proved the domain with the meta tag, the file or the DNS TXT record, we check it again every 30 days by the same method. If the proof is not found, we tell you by e-mail, and for 14 days the site is marked as proof lost; during this time we check it every day.

Proof by e-mail is not checked again, and we do not send new e-mails on our own. It is valid for 365 days from the moment you pressed the button on the page. On day 365 we tell you that the proof is lost, and for 14 days the site is marked as proof lost. During this time you can prove the domain again by any method, including a new e-mail that you request in the cabinet.

If the domain is not proved again within these 14 days, we remove your ownership of the site. The site then stays in the index on the same terms as any other site, and its card is removed from the catalogue of sites.

If your ownership is removed while the paid plan is paid, the period already paid runs to its end: until the paid-until date and for 3 more days of grace, the site keeps indexing of the whole site, regular recrawling and the giving of its full index to AI systems and social networks. Renewal of the plan is cancelled at the moment of removal; a plan that was switched on by hand is simply not renewed. No refund is due, because the service for the paid period is provided in full. After the period ends, the pages of the site are treated as described under Paid plan. If you prove the domain again before the period ends, you can switch the subscription on again in the cabinet.

Several owners

Several people may prove the same domain, for example the owner and a web agency. Each of them sees the site in their cabinet and acts in their own name. If owners disagree, for example about a removal request, we may ask them to settle it between themselves and act on the instruction that the proof of control supports.

Free indexing

A proven site may be indexed free of charge. The first pages of the site, up to 100, are queued for indexing. Queuing is not a guarantee: we do not promise that a page will be crawled, indexed, kept in the index or shown in results, or when. You can inspect addresses of the site and request their indexing for 10 addresses a day.

The paid plan gives a proven site:

  • indexing of the whole site, not only the first pages;
  • regular recrawling, so that changes reach the index;
  • storage of the full index of the site;
  • inspection and indexing requests for 200 addresses a day instead of 10.

The price and the period of the plan are shown in the cabinet before you subscribe. Where card payment is not available, you pay against an invoice by bank transfer.

Before the paid plan ends, we tell you by e-mail 7 days in advance and again on the day it ends. After the end, all pages of the site stay in the index for 30 days. Then the pages above the free limit of 100 leave the index. They are not deleted: if you pay for the plan again, they return to the index after our crawler visits them again.

Full index for AI systems and social networks

The full index of a site on the paid plan is given free of charge to AI systems and social networks. By subscribing to the paid plan, you give us a free, non-exclusive licence, for as long as the plan lasts, to store the full index of your site and give it to them, and you confirm that you are entitled to grant this licence for the content of the site.

The content remains yours. We do not pay for it and do not charge AI systems and social networks for it. If you end the paid plan, we stop giving the full index of your site from that moment; we cannot recall copies that others have already received.

robots.txt and ChakloonBot

Our crawler is called ChakloonBot. It is described on the crawler page at chakloon.net/bot. The robots.txt file of your site must allow ChakloonBot. If a site blocks our crawler in robots.txt or refuses its requests, it is not indexed, also on the paid plan; no refund is due for the period in which the site blocked us.

How ranking works

We do not sell positions in search results, and no one can pay to be ranked higher. Results are ordered automatically by the same rules for all sites, including sites of Haydamax OÜ. The main parameters are:

  • how well the text of the page matches the words of the query, which weighs most;
  • whether the language of the page matches the language of the query;
  • how recent the copy of the page in our index is;
  • whether the page can be reached and is safe, so that pages with malware, phishing or spam are ranked lower or removed.

The paid plan changes which pages of your site are in the index and how often they are recrawled. It does not change the order in which indexed pages are ranked, and we do not promise any position, traffic or visibility. If we change these parameters in a way that matters to site owners, we update this section.

Data about your site

  • What you see. In the cabinet you see statistics of your site in Chakloon Net: impressions and clicks of its pages in the results, by queries and by pages, for 7, 28 or 90 days, without counting robots. You also see an indexing report with the pages of the site by status and the reasons, and you can inspect individual addresses. You can ask support@chakloon.com for the data about your site that we hold, such as the pages in the index and their text snapshots.
  • What we keep. We keep your account data, the domains you added and how you proved them, and the copies of pages made by ChakloonBot, as described in the Privacy Policy.
  • Who else gets it. We do not give data that you provide in the Console, or that your use of it generates, to other site owners, except that every owner who has proved the same domain sees that site. The full index of a site on the paid plan goes to AI systems and social networks, as described above.

Notifications

We send notifications by e-mail to the confirmed address of your Chakloon Passport account and show them in the shared Chakloon bell, when:

  • your domain is confirmed;
  • 1, 10, 100, 1,000 or 10,000 pages of the site are in the index;
  • our crawler meets errors on the site;
  • robots.txt closes the site to ChakloonBot;
  • the proof of the domain is lost or your ownership is removed;
  • the paid plan is about to end or has ended;
  • pages of the site leave the index.

Site card

A proven site has a card in the catalogue of sites, with a title and a description. The form of the card automatically removes links, e-mail addresses, phone numbers, repeated characters such as !!! and words written entirely in capital letters.

A card is not published at once but waits for review by a person, usually within a day, when it concerns:

  • pornography and escort services;
  • gambling and betting;
  • sale of drugs;
  • forged documents;
  • sale of prescription medicines without a prescription;
  • payday loans.

After the review we publish the card or reject it. If we reject or remove a card, we tell you what we decided, the facts and the grounds. You can correct the card and save it again, and you can appeal as described in Content moderation and appeals.

Your responsibilities

  • You give true information and keep your account secure.
  • You do not use the Console to harm sites of others, for example by proving domains you do not control.
  • The content of your site must not be illegal. We may remove illegal content from the index as described in Report illegal content.

Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel the paid plan at any time by writing to team@chakloon.com, or in the cabinet where it offers this. The plan then ends at the end of the period already paid, unless we agree otherwise, and the pages of the site are then treated as described under Paid plan. You may stop using the free Console at any time and remove your site from it. Withdrawal for consumers and refunds, including for a period not used because we discontinued the service, are governed by Payments, refunds and withdrawal.

Removal requests

  • Your own site: you can ask for pages of your site to be removed from the index and from the text snapshot by writing to support@chakloon.com from the account that has proved the domain. Blocking ChakloonBot in robots.txt also stops indexing.
  • Content about you on someone else's site: write to privacy@chakloon.com if search results show personal data about you, or to legal@chakloon.com if they show illegal content.
  • Notices about your site: if we lower or remove pages of your site after a notice from someone else, we tell the owners who have proved the domain, and on request you can see the content of the notice, without the personal data of the person who sent it where the law protects it.

Suspension and termination

We may restrict or suspend a site or an account in the Console if these terms are broken, if the site distributes malware or phishing, if a payment is reversed or if an authority orders it. At the latest when the measure takes effect, we tell you what we decided, the facts and the grounds. You can reply to clarify the facts, and you can appeal as described in Content moderation and appeals. If the reason no longer exists, we lift the measure.

If we decide to end the Console for your account altogether, we tell you the reasons at least 30 days in advance, unless the law requires us to end it sooner, or the account has repeatedly or seriously broken these terms, for example by spreading malware or phishing.

Changes to these terms

We tell owners of proven sites about a change of these terms by e-mail or in the cabinet at least 15 days before it takes effect, and longer where the change requires technical work on your side. A shorter period applies only where the law requires a change sooner or where we must act against an unforeseen danger, such as fraud, malware or a security threat. If you do not agree, you may end the contract before the change takes effect; for the paid plan, you then get back the unused part of what you paid.
